The BM15-HD is a bench mounted facility for the pelletising of thermoplastic materials in laboratory applications.
The compact unit has a 15mm feed width and is equipped with a variable speed drive to cater for varying feed rates of laboratory extrusion giving precise sized pellets. Its overhung rotor design allows easy clean down for colour changes and efficient processing of colour masterbatches.
The machine operates from a single phase power supply and is equipped with safety monitored circuit. Ideal for Laboratory applications for single and twin strand extruders for small production runs.
Perfect for soft material
The BM15-HD has a straight feed table which does not allow the strands to be bent towards the cutter, this is essential for the production of soft materials. The distance between the nip point of the feed rolls and the cutting point is very close resulting in a cutting action that will cut materials that are very soft.
Easy clean for colour change applications
The overhung design of the machine allows the operator to remove the feed rolls and rotor from the shafts this can be achieved without the need of bearing removal. The machine is designed for easy clean down between colour changes. BM15-HD Single drive
The BM15-HD single drive Pelletiser as shown in the photo has the electrical controls and electrical circuit mounted inside the machine, This compact unit has a 0.375Kw drive and a series of gears and timing pulleys to produce a set pellet length of 3mm, the machine can be geared to produce alternative set pellet length which are precise at very low line speeds.
BM15-HD Dual drive
The BM15-HD Dual drive Pelletiser is slightly bigger the housing of the machine is fitted with two motors one motor controls the line speed and the other controls the rotor speed. On the dual drive machine all of the electrics are mounted inside a separate enclosure, the controls for the machine are mounted on the enclosure door.
Heavy Duty Transmission
The original BM15 was a smaller version of the BM15-HD the HD stands for heavy duty the transmission belts and timing belts have been upgraded and the gears have been modified to produce a very hard wearing machine.

Low maintenance cost
Due to the physical size of the BM15 all of the wearable items are very small resulting low cost spare parts the rotor is only 100mm diameter and the feed rolls are only very small.
BM15 Cooling bath and compressed Airknife
The BM15-HD can also be supplied with a cooling bath complete with strand dryer the stainless steel bath is fitted with two strand guide rollers.
