Extruded polymer conveyor for dry cut Pelletizing lines.

Our mesh belt conveying system has been specifically designed for the conveying of extruded polymer that are water-sensitive or difficult to process.

The conveyor makes it possible to process very flexible and elastic polymers that cannot be processed on wet-cut extrusion line lines.

Instead of using a cooling bath to cool the extruded strands the strands are fed directly onto a mesh belt the strands can then be cooled by either water spray jets or cool air jets depending on the application.

The conveyor can be supplied with water cooling or air cooling depending on the material being processed. Once the strands are cooled, they can be fed directly into our ASL series Pelletiser or any dry cut Pelletiser.

The conveyor pictured was designed to suit the customers application and was fitted with the customers cooling system which was free issued to us.

This mesh belt conveyor is 5m long with a 450mm wide mesh belt it was used to convey water sensitive extruded polymer which is also very elastic when extruded. The material was conveyed to our ASL400 Strand Pelletiser which has a capacity of 80 strands.

The molten polymer strands are fed directly from the extruder die onto the mesh belt, the material is slowly conveyed to allow air cooling prior to Pelletising.

This mesh belt is driven using stainless steel sprockets a stainless-steel chain is attached to both sides of the belt and the chain is fully supported over the entire length of the conveyor. The design of this system makes it impossible for the mesh belt to drift. The mesh belt is also supported underneath with plastic wear strips.

The drive chain can be lubricated with a food grade chain spray while the machine is running.
